Clareville sits on the Pittwater side of the peninsula, opposite Avalon Beach, with waterfront homes, quiet narrow streets, little beaches and steep, bushy blocks. It is peaceful, private and not always easy to get a drain plumber's gear into. Beaches Blocked Drains is a referral service. We connect you with licensed local drain plumbers who service Clareville.
Why Clareville drains block
Waterfront and low pipework. Homes close to Pittwater have pipes near the water table, and salt and tidal influence take a toll on older fittings. Some homes below road level may rely on a sewer pump.
Steep, bushy blocks. Behind the waterfront, homes climb the slope. Long sewer runs and fast stormwater are common, and bushland supplies roots and leaf litter.
Older homes. Weekenders and older family homes may still run on original clay sewer pipe, which roots enter at the joints.
Narrow access. Tight streets and limited parking mean jobs can take longer to set up.
How the plumbers we refer handle it
A CCTV drain camera with a locator finds the fault before anyone digs on a waterfront or steep site. Jet blasting clears roots and silt. Pipe relining repairs cracked pipe from inside, which avoids disturbing landscaping, sea walls or sandstone.
What it costs
A standard clear typically runs $150 to $400. Access can add time, so ask the plumber to include that in the quote. Camera and jetting together typically run $350 to $900. Relining typically starts around $3,000.
Frequently asked questions
Our waterfront home has a sewer pump. Does that change things?
Yes. If the pump alarm is sounding or the tank is full, the fault may be the pump. Mention it when you enquire so the right plumber is matched.
Do salt and tides affect drains?
They can corrode older metal fittings and keep low pipework wet. PVC and relined pipe cope much better.
Can work be done without damaging a sea wall or garden?
Most clearing and relining is done through existing access points. A camera inspection keeps any digging to a minimum.
